Apple Watch Shipping In April of 2015!

Apple Watch Shipping In April of 2015!
Tim Cook Announced Today
During Apple Earnings Call

Apple CEO, Tim Cook announced today that the Apple watch will be shipping in April of 2015. He said:

"Development for Apple Watch is right on schedule, and we expect to begin shipping in April. Developers are hard at work on apps, notifications, and information summaries that we call Glances, all designed specifically for the Watch's user interface. The creativity and software innovation going on around Apple Watch is incredibly exciting, and we can't wait for our customers to experience them when Apple Watch becomes available."

Cook went on to say:

"My expectations are very high on it. I'm using it every day, and loving it, and I can't live without it. And so I see that we're making great progress on the development of it. The number of developers that are writing apps for it are impressive and we're seeing some incredible innovation coming out there.

And just to clarify, what we had been saying was early 2015, and we sorta look at the year and think of "early" is the first four months, "mid" is the next four months, and "late" is the final four months. To us, it's sort of within the range, so it's basically when we thought.

But most importantly, we're going to be thrilled to start shipping it, because we've got a lot of customers that are wanting to get one."

Open Your Hotel Room With Your Apple Watch!!!

Open Your Hotel Room With Your Apple Watch!!!
Starwood & Hilton Hotels Announce Virtual Room Keys

A few weeks ago, I reported on potentially being able to open and start your Tesla car with an iPhone. Recently, Starwood hotels announced they launched their SPG Keyless hotel room lock service that will allow Apple Watches, and bluetooth LE equipped iPhone models to unlock their hotel room doors. All iPhones beginning with the iPhone 4s Model, moving forward will function to unlock the hotel room door locks. So just to be clear, the system does NOT use NFC.

The coolest features, is hotel guests will be able to check-in and check-out from their Apple Watch or iPhone, thus allowing them to bypass the front desk all-together!!! Hilton Worldwide also recently announced they will also be introducing their own bluetooth based smart key system that can run on Apple and Android based smartphones. A Hilton representative recently said "Never before has a hotel guest been able to check-in, select their room from a digital floor plan, request items to be ready upon arrival, and then access their room via their smartphone and find it exactly the way they requested it. We’re truly revolutionizing travel by making the stay experience more convenient."
